Rain gauges across the Charlotte area have measured about 0.3 inches to 0.5 inches of rain over the 24 hours ending at 7 a.m. Thursday, said Chris Horne, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Greer, S.C.
The official rainfall total is 0.58 inches measured at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, he said. Other locations around the region have received more.
Charlotte can expect periods of rain to continue Thursday and Friday, with the rain clearing out Saturday morning, he said.
An additional half-inch to inch of rain is forecast to fall from Thursday morning through Friday night, Horne said.
