Want to tell the Observer and our readers your thoughts about diversity and student assignment at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools?
Come meet the editorial board at the southwest corner of Trade & Tryon at 11 a.m. Monday. Tell us on video what you think the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school board should consider as it examines how to encourage diversity in its struggling schools.
It’s an issue that has already prompted discussion throughout the city and county. Some educators and parents advocate an expansion of magnet schools or a redrawing of student assignment zones. Others would like some kind of return to mandatory busing.
We want to know what you think. Or, if you want to give us your thoughts on any topic – there is a big election coming up next year, after all – stop on by.
