Mayor Dan Clodfelter has proclaimed Thursday “Honesty Day” in Charlotte. Honesty Day is marked April 30 nationwide, Wikipedia says. “On this day, anyone participating may ask any question they choose and the opposing person should give a truthful and straightforward answer,” the entry says.

Ho, ho, ho! What an opportunity! You can ask anyone in town one question and get an honest answer? Sign us up!

So, let’s see. Where to start? Since the mayor proclaimed it Honesty Day, let’s start with him:

1. Mayor Clodfelter, did you promise City Council members you would not run for mayor in 2015 as part of the agreement to become mayor last year?
