What Bob Rucho saw when he parked at work this morning

N.C. Rep. Tricia Cotham of Mecklenburg, driving into work today at the General Assembly, noticed this in Sen. Bob Rucho’s parking spot:

We’re not sure who put it there, but we know where it came from. The Jabba the Hutt toon was the brainchild of the (Raleigh) News & Observer’s Dwane Powell, who drew it for Sunday.

The toon is a reference, of course, to Rucho dancing around Senate rules last week by playing deaf to a voice vote that seemed to defeat a renewable energy bill in the Senate Finance Committee he chairs. The bill would freeze renewable energy standards in North Carolina. Rucho wants the bill to pass. So he ignored the nays and moved the bill forward, emperor-like.

Now he has a parking spot fit for a king.
