Five fearless predictions for Wednesday’s Hornets game against Denver:

1. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist won’t play long, but...

He will attack the game defensively, as he did when coming back from his first shoulder surgery two seasons ago.

2. Dwight Howard won’t go 0-for in this one

Shooting 0-of-9 from the foul line against the Milwauakee Bucks was costly. Howard is a poor foul shooter, but not that bad.

3. The Hornets don’t jack up so many bad shots.

The shot selection late in Milwaukee wasn’t so wise (Jeremy Lamb had one particularly quick long jumper). That will be addressed at morning shootaround.

4. Johnny O’Bryant will continue playing well

This is a great opportunity while Cody Zeller is out; O’Bryant made the most of 13 minutes Monday.

5. Hornets 101, Nuggets 98

With Houston here Friday, the Hornets need this one to have a realistic shot at a 2-2 week.
