Charlotte Hornets

NBA Charlotte Hornets Observations

• It took until almost tipoff Monday, but the NBA cleared Charlotte Hornets forward Marvin Williams to play under the league’s concussion protocol. Williams had passed all the testing earlier in the day; it was just a matter of the league office signing off on the results. He missed two games after being elbowed in the nose during a victory against the New York Knicks.

• The next Hornets expected back from injury will be center Bismack Biyombo, who suffered a knee bruise in that same Knicks game. He could be back late this week, either in Thursday’s rematch with the Washington Wizards or Saturday against the 76ers in Philadelphia.

• The Hornets will play the Wizards again Thursday in Charlotte in a playoff-like stretch where each team has days off to review and prepare for each other’s tendencies.

• The Hornets will get a full week off for the All-Star break starting Feb. 11, then practice three days in Charlotte before hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder on Feb. 21.
