For a third straight season, the Charlotte 49ers’ baseball team will make the short trip uptown for two games at BB&T Ballpark.

The 49ers will host Wake Forest on March 21 before facing N.C. State on March 28. Past games have been played at 6:05 p.m., but first pitch will be at 7:05 p.m. for these games to give fans extra time to arrive.

“We’re very pleased to continue the tradition of hosting the 49ers at BB&T Ballpark,” Dan Rajkowski, the Charlotte Knights’ chief operating officer, said in a statement. “Collegiate baseball has become a staple at BB&T Ballpark and coach (Loren) Hibbs, along with the entire 49ers staff and players, are great partners of ours.”

Since Charlotte started hosting home games at BB&T Ballpark in 2015, the 49ers have faced the Wolfpack twice and lost both games. Charlotte’s record is 2-2 at the ballpark.

On Jan. 28, tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. at BB&T Ballpark, where Hibbs and players will meet fans. Starting at noon, tickets will also be available online at charlotteknights.com and by phone at 704-274-8282.
