Charlotte 49ers land players on each C-USA preseason all-conference team

Charlotte 49ers junior guard Jon Davis has been named to the Conference USA preseason men’s basketball all-conference team. Davis averaged 19.6 points last season, second best in the conference. His 4.2 assists per game, 48.2 field-goal percentage, 38.0 3-point percentage and 78.2 free-throw percentage all ranked in the top 15 in the league.

Davis is joined on the team by Daquan Bracey, sophomore, guard, Louisiana Tech; William Lee, senior, forward, Ala.-Birmingham; Chris Cokley, senior, forward, UAB; Ahmad Caver, junior, guard, Old Dominion; Jacobi Boykins, senior, guard, Louisiana Tech; Giddy Potts, senior, guard, Middle Tennessee; Justin Johnson, senior, forward, Western Kentucky; Jon Elmore, junior, guard, Marshall; Omega Harris, senior, guard, Texas-El Paso.

49ers senior forward Nyilah Jamison-Myers made the league’s women’s basketball all-conference team. Jamison, an all-conference defensive team selection in 2016-17, averaged 11.2 points and 6.0 points last season.

The rest of the team includes Middle Tennessee junior forward Alex Johnson, the preseason player of the year, and Rachael Childress, sophomore, forward, UAB; Terriell Bradley, junior, guard, North Texas; Shayna Gore, junior, guard-forward, Marshall; Kierra Anthony, junior, guard, Louisiana Tech; Ivy Brown, senior, forward, WKU; Tashia Brown, senior, forward, WKU.
