The South Carolina football team ended up with three players on the 2019 All-SEC football team.

Less than six weeks away from the start of the 2019 college season, the Gamecocks have a a couple more names on the preseason list.

Defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw made the second team on defense, while wide receiver Bryan Edwards was a third-team pick.

Punter Joseph Charlton was absent after earning a second-team spot on last season’s team.

After posting seasons of 590, 793 and 846 yards, his career total of 2,229 is sixth on the school’s all-time list, 813 from the all-time record. He’s also seven receiving touchdowns short of the program career record (23) and 44 catches short of the school record (207).

Kinlaw had 10 tackles for loss and 4 1/2 sacks last season, despite battling a nagging hip injury. He came to USC as a 340 pounder, lost a good deal of weight and eschewed the NFL this offseason.

The Gamecocks return 16 starters from a 7-6 team in 2018.
