Chick-fil-A on a Sunday? Shane Beamer’s Halloween costume all about fast-food fun

Shane Beamer is getting into the Halloween spirit.

South Carolina’s head football coach tweeted a photo of himself Sunday morning on Halloween dressed as a Chick-fil-A employee. Beamer tagged the company’s Twitter account, which appears to be dormant on Sundays. The Atlanta-based fast-food chain is known for being closed each Sunday.

Beamer gave SEC Network anchor Peter Burns a shout-out in his Halloween tweet. Friday, Burns created a Halloween power rankings list on his “SEC This Morning” radio and TV show.

“@ChickfilA Trying to move up your Halloween power rankings @PeterBurnsESPN !! #HappyHalloween #MyPleasure,” Beamer tweeted with the shrug and hang 10 emojis.

Beamer’s costume included a black Chick-fil-A hat, a red-and-white striped shirt and a custom name tag reading “Coach Beamer.”

Beamer’s costume tweet was a reply to a viral post from September in which a Twitter user guessed what each SEC head coach would do for a living if they didn’t coach. That tweet predicted Beamer, known for his upbeat attitude, would be a Chick-fil-A franchisee.

Back in September, a Twitter user posted: “Chick-fil-A Director here who can confirm Coach (Beamer) has the makings of a CFA Operator.”

“Yes!! I’m really hoping this head coaching thing works out but good to know I have a potential fall back option!!” Beamer retweeted with a laughing emoji.

Beamer’s Gamecocks (4-4, 1-4 SEC) return from their open week to host Florida in Williams-Brice Stadium this Saturday. South Carolina plays the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
