LA.-LAFAYETTE: Ragin’ Cajuns a unanimous pick by coaches to win conference title in 2014 after sharing championship last season.


ARKANSAS STATE: Red Wolves have won or shared conference title the past three seasons; 11 starters return to go for a fourth straight.

SOUTH ALABAMA: Jaguars improved from 2-11 to 6-6 last season, their second in the Sun Belt; included upset win over La.-Lafayette in season finale.

Five to watch

Terrance Broadway, La.-Lafayette, QB, Sr. (6-2, 211): Preseason offensive player of the year threw for 2,419 yards, 19 TDs, ran for 442 yards, eight TDs last year.

Qushaun Lee, Arkansas State, LB, Sr. (5-11, 247): Preseason defensive player of the year led Sun Belt with 134 tackles in 2013, was Bowl defensive MVP.

Marcus Cox, Appalachian State, RB, Soph. (5-10, 185): Led Southern Conference in rushing yards as freshman with 1,250 yards, also had 15 TDs.

Garrett Frye, Georgia Southern, OL, Sr. (6-5, 290): Third-team AP All-American anchored unit that helped Eagles lead NCAA in rushing yards (360.4 per game) last season.

Rashon Ceaser, La.-Monroe, WR, Jr. (6-0, 188): Conference’s leading returning receiver was third in yards (964), fourth in receptions (65) in 2013.
