Following in the footsteps of its most famous alumnus, Davidson’s athletic department has signed a multiyear deal with Under Armour.

The sports apparel company will outfit 20 of Davidson’s 21 teams beginning with the 2016-17 season. The Wildcats men’s basketball team will make the switch from Nike to Under Armour in 2018.

Former Wildcats star and current NBA most-valuable-player Stephen Curry endorses Under Armour.

“I take great pride in my alma mater,” Curry said in a statement. “Davidson is such a key part of my history and journey to the NBA and I’m thrilled that they have joined the Under Armour family.”

Davidson’s other teams have been outfitted by a variety of brands.

“This long-term relationship offers us the opportunity to outfit our teams and scholar-athletes in game-changing products while aligning Davidson with a brand that is a recognized leader in innovation,” Wildcats athletics director Jim Murphy said.

Other schools outfitted by Under Armour include Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Navy, Maryland, Texas Tech, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Boston College, Utah, South Carolina and Auburn.
