Charlotte (4-2) at Davidson (4-1)

Davidson has possession of the Hornet’s Nest Trophy after an 87-78 overtime victory last season at Charlotte. The 49ers lead the overall series 28-12 and are 22-9 in Hornet’s Nest games. Davidson’s loss this season is a 90-72 decision against then-No. 6 North Carolina at Time Warner Cable Arena. Guard Jack Gibbs averages 15.8 points for Davidson and is the Atlantic 10’s player of the week after scoring 37 points in a victory against Central Florida and 13 against UNC Wilmington. Freshman Peyton Aldridge leads the Wildcats in rebounding (6.8 per game). Davidson averages 11.4 3-pointers and hits 39.9 percent of its long-range shots, led by freshman forward Oskar Michelsen (12-of-24) and senior guard Tyler Kalinoski (15-of-35). Charlotte redshirt junior center Mike Thorne had a career-high 18 rebounds Sunday in an overtime victory at UNC Asheville and averages 14.8 points and 10.3 rebounds. 49ers guard Pierria Henry, whose 3-pointer as time expired beat UNC Asheville, averages 9.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists. Livingstone (4-1) at Queens (1-4)

The Royals take a break from their South Atlantic Conference schedule to host the CIAA’s Blue Bears. Queens has lost its past two games, including a 72-68 loss at Coker on Nov. 25. Livingstone won two straight to close out play in last week’s Elizabeth City State Classic, including an 81-75 victory over West Virginia State in the fifth-place game Sunday. Bill Kiser

Winthrop (3-2) at Jacksonville State (4-3)

The Eagles begin a two-game road trip when they face the Gamecocks. Winthrop snapped a two-game losing streak by beating Savannah State 68-47 Monday. Jacksonville State is on a roll, having won four straight – including an 81-49 victory over Fort Valley State on Sunday – after opening with losses to Marshall, then-No. 7 Louisville and Cleveland State.
