Gamecocks lose 2nd in a row after 7 straight wins

Jarvis Summers scored 20 points, Stefan Moody added 16 and Mississippi beat South Carolina 65-49 on Saturday.

Ole Miss (10-5, 1-1 SEC) never trailed, though South Carolina tied at 33 early in the second half.

South Carolina (9-5, 0-2) has lost two straight following a seven-game winning streak.

BIG SOUTH

Gardner-Webb 65, Winthrop 64: Jerome Hill’s three-point play with 17 seconds left capped a huge second-half comeback for the host Bulldogs (11-6, 3-1).

Winthrop is 7-8, 2-2.

Radford 95, Presbyterian 82: Javonte Green scored 24 points, including 12 of 19 at the free throw line, and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds for host Radford (10-7, 1-3).

Jordan Downing (Huntersville Hopewell) scored 28 points to lead Presbyterian (5-12, 1-3).

Charleston Southern 68, Longwood 54: Saah Nimley had 18 points and eight assists to lead the host Buccaneers (8-7, 2-2).

High Point 69, Campbell 62: Lorenzo Cugini led the host Panthers (12-4, 3-1) with 24 points. Reco McCarter scored 17 for the Camels (7-9, 1-2).

Coastal Carolina 69, Liberty 54: Warren Gillis scored 20 points with four 3-pointers, four rebounds and four assists for visiting Coastal Carolina (13-3, 4-0).

Lincoln (Pa.) 88, Saint Augustine’s 65: Anthony Gaskins scored a career-high 26 points for the host Falcons (6-8, 0-4).

Shaw 61, Bowie State 43: Larry Richardson led the host Bears (9-6, 4-1) with 21 points.

MEAC

N.C. Central 76, S.C. State 45: Eagles coach LeVelle Moton earned his 100th victory in his sixth season at his alma mater. Jordan Parks scored 16 points and made 14 rebounds for N.C. Central (11-5, 3-0).

N.C. A&T 68, Savannah St. 47: Bruce Beckford scored 22 with 12 rebounds and four blocks for the host Aggies (4-13, 1-2).

SOUTH ATLANTIC

Lincoln Memorial 81, Wingate 62: Gerel Simmons scored 26 for the visiting Railsplitters (14-0, 8-0), hitting six 3-pointers. The Bulldogs are 7-7, 4-4.

Lenoir-Rhyne 88, Tusculum 85 (2OT): Reed Lucas scored 28 and Will Perry 26 for the visiting Bears (5-7, 3-5).

Queens 82, Carson-Newman 80: Rob Lewis led the visiting Royals (9-5, 6-2) with 16 points in their eighth straight win. Marquis Rankin made one of two free throws with five seconds left for a 5-point lead.

SOUTHERN CONFERENCE

Mercer 74, The Citadel 51: Phillip Leonard scored 13 points for host Mercer (9-9, 4-1).

Brian White led The Citadel (7-9, 2-3) with 10 points.

Western Carolina 82, UNC Greensboro 72: Mike Brown (West Charlotte) scored a career-high 27 for the host Catamounts (8-9, 3-2).

Wofford 72, Samford 62: Karl Cochran scored 17 points as the host Terriers (13-4, 4-0) rallied.

SUN BELT

Arkansas Little Rock 64, Appalachian State 46: Roger Woods scored 15 points for the hot-shooting hosts (6-9, 1-4). Appalachian State is 4-9, 1-3.
