Hough (7-3, 4-1) at Vance (9-1, 4-1), 7 p.m.: Quarterbacks Jackson Gibbs (Hough) and Kingsley Ifedi (Vance) lead their teams in a MECKA 4A showdown. The teams are tied with Mallard Creek for first place.

Davidson Day (8-2) at Charlotte Christian (9-1), 7 p.m.: This is an NCISAA Division I playoff semifinal. The visiting Patriots are defending state champions but meet a Knights’ team that has lost only to unbeaten Charlotte Latin.

Concord (7-1, 8-2) at Jay M. Robinson (8-2, 7-1), 7:30 p.m.: This is Part 1 of the Southern Piedmont 3A logjam-breaker. Concord’s tough defense faces a big test from the high-scoring Bulldogs.

Hickory Ridge (8-2, 6-2) at West Rowan (8-2, 7-1), 7:30 p.m.: And this is Part 2 in the South Piedmont 3A. West Rowan needs a victory to share the title with the Concord-Robinson winner.

Marvin Ridge (6-4, 3-1) at Weddington (7-3, 4-0), 7:30 p.m.: The host Warriors go for their seventh straight victory and Southern Carolina 3A title against Marvin Ridge, featuring running back Caleb Deveaux.

Rock Hill (2-7, 1-2) at Northwestern (8-1, 3-0), 7:30 p.m.: The teams are headed in opposite directions, but this Rock Hill rivalry is among the area’s best every year.

Independence (2-8, 2-3) at Butler (9-1, 5-0), 7 p.m.: Another apparent lopsided rivalry game, but Independence’s 43-42 win last week against Rocky River adds a bit of intrigue.
