United Faith (10-1, 3-0 SPAA) at Carmel Christian (8-2, 3-0), 7:30 p.m.: United Faith has won three in a row and looks to take control of the conference championship chase under first-year coach Josh Coley. Last season, Coley led Carmel Christian to the league title. Former Charlotte 49ers star Byron Dinkins is in his first season as coach at Carmel Christian, the preseason league favorite. Dinkins won three state championships at Northside Christian.

Lincolnton (0-0) at East Lincoln (3-1), 7:30 p.m.: Quite the season opener for Lincolnton, playing its arch rival on the road. Lincolnton senior Sage Surratt helped lead two East Lincoln teams that reached the N.C. 2A championship game. Now he’ll face his former team.

Northside Christian (4-2) at Cannon School (6-5), 7:30 p.m.: Northside junior Jon Hicklin (19.4 points per game, 11.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.6 steals) and senior Jason Tate (16 points, 6.8 rebounds) are having strong seasons and will try to upset a Cannon team that features at least six college prospects.

South Iredell (7-0, 2-0 North Piedmont) at Lake Norman (6-3, 2-0), 7:30 p.m.: Lake Norman has won three straight after a slow start and looks to gain a grip on first place. South Iredell is allowing less than 46 points per game.

South Mecklenburg girls (7-4, 3-0 SoMeck 8) at Charlotte Catholic (4-4, 2-1), 6 p.m.: Catholic has won three in a row and looks to get near the top of the league title race. South Meck is tied with Ardrey Kell (8-2, 3-0) for first place.
