▪ One new team joins this week’s poll: 3A South Iredell is off to a 7-0 start and faces rival Lake Norman for first place in the North Piedmont Conference Friday.

▪ The biggest riser was 3A Hickory Ridge (7-0) moving from No. 16 to No. 7 after one of the best starts in school history. Hickory Ridge plays at South Rowan Friday and then has a showdown at home Monday with No. 14 Cox Mill.
