Each week, people post old photos of themselves on Twitter with the hashtag “#TBT,” or Throw Back Thursday.

N.C. native Chris Paul picked a doozy Thursday and set Twitter all ablaze, posting a photo from a media guide from the AAU 12-and-under national championship tournament. Apparently, Paul’s team, the Carolina Hornets from Winston-Salem; and James’ team, the ABA Shooting Stars from Akron, OH, both played. It’s not clear if they played each other.

Paul, who is close friends with James today, posted a photo of both teams, which were featured on the same page of the program.

Back in 1997, Paul -- who would later star at West Forsyth High School and Wake Forest -- was a 5-foot-1 point guard; James a 5-7 wing. James’ team was coached by Dru Joyce, the same guy who coached him in high school at St. Vincent-St. Mary in Ohio. Paul’s team was coached by Andy Poplin, who is now the 17-and-under coach for Paul’s showcase travel team, the CP3 All-Stars.
