Charlotte Catholic fans are expected to fill up the visitor’s side of Charlotte Country Day’s stadium in what could be a rainy Battle for the John Cook Cup Friday night SPECIAL

Tropical Storm Harvey is expected to land in the Charlotte area Thursday bringing rainy weather to the area. With wet forecasts for Thursday and Friday, high schools throughout the region moved games to Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Monday. There are still games scheduled for Friday.

We will update this story throughout the day with changes:

▪ East Mecklenburg has moved its home game with Berry to West Mecklenburg Friday night. West Mecklenburg has artificial turf, unlike East Meck, which plays on grass. With wet weather expected in Thursday and continuing into Friday, East Mecklenburg officials were concerned with damaging the field by playing at home.

If the game cannot be played Friday, it will be played Monday night at 7 p.m. at East Meck.

▪ Myers Park is scheduled to host unbeaten Providence Friday night. The Mustangs, like East Meck, have a grass field. But athletics director Rick Lewis said the school planned to keep the game at Myers Park, noting the school only had four home games this season. If the field is too wet or conditions don’t allow the game to be played Friday, Lewis said it would move to Monday.
