With two regular-season games remaining, the two northern Mecklenburg County rivals are one game ahead of Vance (7-2, 4-1). Hough has won seven games in a row and plays Vance next week.
No. 7 Vance (7-2, 4-1 IMECK) at North Mecklenburg (7-2, 3-2), Friday, 7 p.m.: Vance can still win the league title, but must win this week and beat Hough next week. North Mecklenburg has lost two straight after a rare 7-0 start and looks to get improve playoff seeding.
York (8-1, 4-0 Region III 4A) at No. 1 Rock Hill South Pointe (9-0, 4-0), Friday, 7:30 p.m.: York is No. 10 in at least one S.C. statewide 4A poll. South Pointe, ranked in the top 10 of many national polls.
No. 4 Charlotte Christian (7-1, 2-0 Big South Independent) at No. 16 Providence Day (8-1, 2-0), Friday, 7 p.m.: The Big South Independent Schools championship comes down to two old rivals who are riding long winning streaks. Both teams have won seven straight. Whichever one gets to eight wins the league title and likely has the No. 1 seed for the Division I state playoffs next week.

Porter Ridge (6-3, 4-1 Southwestern 4A) at No. 6 Myers Park (8-1, 4-1), Friday, 7 p.m.: There’s a four-way tie in the conference with two games left. That makes this a must-win for these two. Butler (6-2, 4-1) plays Garinger (1-8, 0-5) this week. Hickory Ridge (8-1, 4-1) hosts East Mecklenburg (5-4, 3-2).
No. 10 Marvin Ridge (9-0, 5-0 Southern Carolina) at Sun Valley (7-2, 3-2), Friday, 7:30 p.m.: Marvin Ridge is trying to get in position to play Charlotte Catholic (9-0, 5-0) next week for the league title. Sun Valley (7-2, 3-2) is playing for an upset and playoff seeding.
