Former Butler High star Demontez Stitt earns Clemson degree posthumously

Former Butler High star Demontez Stitt died suddenly two years ago at age 27.

His death crushed the Butler High School community, where he was a star. Stitt was named Mr. Basketball in North Carolina by the Observer after the 2006-07 high school season.

Stitt later went to Clemson from 2007-11 and started on four straight NCAA Tournament teams. He averaged 14.5 points and 4.3 rebounds as a senior in 2010-11.

This week, Stitt was awarded his Clemson degree posthumously.
