Second-round action in North Carolina’s public school baseball, softball and girls’ soccer playoffs takes place Friday and Saturday, with a number of top games across the region.

Meanwhile, the area’s track and field athletes will participate in regional meets, hoping to earn spots in next weekend’s state meets.
