The Warriors won their second straight state championship Sunday in Greensboro, led by Kyle Durham and its 3,200 relay team. Durham was the only Weddington individual winner. He won the 800 meters in a time of 1 minute, 54.63 seconds.
The Warriors ran a winning time of 7:57.21 in the 4 x 800 relay with Will Mazur, Stephen Larson, Jackson O’Hara and Durham combining to outpace second place Mount Tabor by almost 5.5 seconds.
The N.C. High School Athletic Association held its 1A and 3A state championship on Sunday after postponing the events on Friday due to weather concerns.
