Nicholas Swiney, Bailey Dees, Hough baseball: combined for no-hitter in 10-0 win over Mallard Creek in the semifinals of the MECKA baseball tournament. Hough will play rival Hopewell in the finalsThursday at 7 p.m. at Kannapolis Brown.

AAU Elite 100 Football Combine: For ages 6-18 is Saturday at 10 a.m. at District III Stadium in Rock Hill. Cost is $25. Campers will be evaluated in height/weight and agility and speed drills. There will also be 7-on-7 work. Information? 843-568-3009 or newlifesportsgroup@gmail.com

High School Heroes

Katie Batten, Alyssa Farrar, Country Day softball: Batten was 3-for-5 with a run scored and Farrar was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in a 11-10 win over Covenant Day Wednesday.

Vince Chelena, Myers Park baseball: 3-for-4 with three doubles and four RBIs in a 10-0 win over Rocky River in the Southwestern 4A tournament.

Haylee Ewert, Ardrey Kell softball: 4-for-5 with two RBIs iin a 15-5 win over South Meck in the first round of the SoMeck 8 tournament.

Joe Gitlin, Charlotte Latin boys lacrosse: eight goals, one assists in a 13-12 win over Providence Day. Providence Day’s Reid Baker had six goals.

Grayson Hickert, Lake Norman Charter baseball: 3-for-3 with doubles, two RBIs and a scored run in a 8-4 win over North Gaston Wednesday. Lake Norman Charter was down 4-0 after three innings but rallied to earn a share of the Big South 2A/3A championship with Belmont South Point.

Michael Hoagland, South Meck lacrosse: four goals in a 10-9 first round playoff win over Mooresville.

Nicole Hogue, Lincoln Charter girls soccer: three goals in a 9-0 win over Cherryville. Lincoln Charter out-shot Cherryville 41-1.

Emily Reinstadtler, Lake Norman Charter softball: 3-for-4 wiht an RBI in a 3-2 win over North Gaston in nine innings. She also pitched and had nine strikeouts.

Jessica Roupas, Providence Day softball: no-hit Charlotte Latin in a 15-0 win and had nine strikeouts.

Alexis Woods, Ardrey Kell girls soccer: four goals in a 9-0 win over West Meck.
