Two Observer-area freshman have been invited to the Nike Elite 100 camp in St. Louis in June.

Cox Mill’s Wendell Moore and Charlotte Christian’s B.J. Mack will attend the camp at St. Louis University. Nike annually invites 100 of the nation’s top underclassmen to attend. Both players made the MaxPreps freshman All-America team.

Moore, a 6-foot-5 wing, averaged 17.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and two steals last season. He was a first-team All-District selection. Moore has college offers from Charlotte, N.C. State, North Carolina and Tennessee. Duke is also recruiting him. Moore is ranked No. 6 nationally in the class of 2019 by Future150.

Mack, a 6-7 center, helped lead Charlotte Catholic to the school’s first N.C. 4A state championship last season.

Mack, who has announced plans to transfer to Charlotte Christian for his sophomore season, was an all-district and all-conference pick after averaging 11.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. He has offers from Georgia and Virginia Tech.
