Prep Hoops N.C. releases statewide recruiting rankings for class of 2020

After releasing its rankings for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 classes, Prep Hoops North Carolina has released its top 10 rankings for the class of 2020.

These are kids who will play their freshman seasons beginning this winter. And the rankings are heavy on Observer-area players.

No. 2 Jaden Springer of Rocky River was MVP of the Under Armour freshman game last weekend and is ranked No. 4 nationally by Junior Phenom 150. In the N.C. rankings, Springer ranks just behind 5-9 leaper Jalen Cone, who is from the Winston-Salem area.

Providence Day point guard Luke Stankavage is No. 5, Statesville Christian’s Christian Bailey is No. 7 and Carmel Christian’s Ford Cooper is No. 8.

North Mecklenburg has the No. 9 (Tristan Maxwell) and No. 10 (DeMar Anderson) ranked players, and Olympic’s Dedrick Givens is No. 11.

Maxwell is the son of former Houston Rockets NBA champion Vernon “Mad Max” Maxwell.
