Olympic High football coach Keith Wilkes has resigned, athletics director Ken Konstanty told the Observer.

Wilkes coached at Olympic for three seasons, going 5-7 in each one. Olympic has not had a winning season since 2013, when Barry Shuford led the Trojans to the third of three straight winning seasons, going 7-5.

Before coming to Olympic, Wilkes coached two years at Vance. In 2012, he led the Cougars to a 9-4 record. In 2013, Vance was 6-6.

Wilkes, part of the 2011 class of the Winston-Salem/Forysth County High School Sports Hall of Fame, built quite a tradition at Winston-Salem Carver.

From 1992-2007, his teams were 139-62-1 with 11 conference titles and state championships in 1998 and 2003. Wilkes was 9-21 at Shiloh High in Snellsville, Ga., for three seasons before resigning and eventually landing at Vance.
