Independence High has produced the most NFL picks of any N.C. high school in the past 10 years, according to a study done by MaxPreps.
Independence is tied with Havelock High School.
The Patriots’ draft picks include wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, who was drafted by the Giants in 2009. Nicks, who won a state title in school, played collegiately at North Carolina.
In South Carolina, the school with the most draft picks in the past 10 years was Greenwood with four.

Now, Independence, Havelock and Greenwood are far behind national leader St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
St. Thomas has produced 19 draft picks in the past 10 years.
