Covenant Day boys basketball coach resigned Friday as head coach at Covenant Day School.

Athletics director Sherry Kapelar and David Houseton will handle interim coaching duties while the school searches for a replacement.

Noch was hired in October 2016, just weeks before the 2016-17 season, after the previous coach, Kameron Law, accepted a job with the Houston Rockets. Noch previously was a varsity assistant and junior varsity head coach at Marvin Ridge and was head coach of the 2009 state championship team from Cleveland (Ohio) Central Catholic.

Covenant Day boys basketball coach Kameron Law has accepted a job with the Houston Rockets and has left the school. Covenant Day has hired Kevin Noch as its new coach.

At Covenant Day, Noch’s first team was 3-19. Covenant Day, which was 12-11 in the 2015-16 season, has had one winning season since the 2006-07 season.

“We are thankful for coach Noch’s service during the 2016-17 season,” Kapelar said. “Our search for a replacement will begin immediately.”
