Football

Elijah Bowick, Myers Park: Virginia Tech recruit caught seven passes for 175 yards and a touchdown in the Mustangs’ 37-14 victory at Richmond Senior.

Myers Park’s Elijah Bowick has committed to Virginia Tech and has his team two games away from its first N.C. 4AA state championship berth. Bowick and the Mustangs play at Richmond Senior Friday.

Grayson McCall, Indian Trail Porter Ridge: Ran 16 times for 156 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-20 victory over West Mecklenburg.

Kaylon Wade, Kings Mountain: Sparked his team to a 49-28 victory over previously unbeaten Northwest Cabarrus. Wade ran for 117 yards and five touchdowns. He completed 11-of-15 passes for 210 yards.

Andre White, Vance: Ran 19 times for 93 yards and three touchdowns in the 34-21 victory over Hough. He also scored on a 15-yard reception.

Gee Witherspoon, Lenoir Hibriten: Ran 10 times for 212 yards in Friday’s 34-15 victory over Catawba Bandys.

Basketball

Dazia Lawrence, Mallard Creek girls: Charlotte 49ers signee had 29 points in double-overtime loss to Butler Thursday, and 22 points, five assists in Saturday’s victory over Cary.

Tristan Maxwell, North Mecklenburg: Had 27 points, 10 rebounds in an 80-75 victory over Berry Friday.

Wendell Moore, Concord Cox Mill: Had 26 points, 10 rebounds, eight blocks in a 78-52 win over Cary Friday.

Reigan Richardson, Concord Cannon School: Sophomore guard had 28 points, 14 rebounds in a 53-49 upset of Greensboro Day. Richardson had 30 points, 10 rebounds in a victory over Sugar Creek Charter Tuesday.

Jah’Quez Sanders, Queens Grant: Scored 27 points to go with 11 rebounds, three assists in a 65-46 victory over Wake Christian Friday.
