This year’s event, considered the region’s top high school basketball showcase, will be played Dec. 27-29 at Rocky River High in Mint Hill. The tournament had previously been held at Providence Day School.
The tournament will feature at least five players ranked among the top 100 in their class, including 6-foot-11 center Kadin Shedrick of Holly Springs (N.C.). Shedrick, ranked No. 64 nationally by 247 Sports, has committed to Virginia.
Past performers in this tournament include NBA stars Stephen Curry, Lance Stephenson, LaMarcus Aldridge and Ben Simmons.
Dec. 27 schedule: Holly Springs vs. Monsignor Scanlan (N.Y.), 2:30 p.m.; Nazareth Regional (N.Y.) vs. Northside Christian; Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) vs. Ardrey Kell, 6; Charlotte Christian vs. South Atlanta, 7:45 p.m.
Note: A slam dunk contest, hosted by Power 98 personalty Larry “No Limit Larry” Mims, will start after the final game on Dec. 28.
