Charlotte Latin and Charlotte Country Day split the contested matches, but forfeit victories carried Latin to a 48-21 high school wrestling victory Tuesday evening.
Latin and Country Day each won three matches. The most closely contested was at 132 pounds, where Country Day’s Will Shircliff beat Marshall Henson 5-2.
Hawk wrestlers winning by pin were Jake Mermans (138), Jack Davis (145) and Thomas Cashion (182). Country Day winners by pin were Will Kercher (126) and Sam Davis (160).

East Lincoln 84, Hickory 0: Only four of the 14 matches were contested, with East Lincoln winning each by pin.
East Lincoln 51, Providence Day 24: Providence Day won five of the first six matches, getting pins from Nathaniel Friedman (120) and Joey Ricco (126), and led 24-6. But the Mustangs won the last eight matches.
East Lincoln winners by pin were Caleb Hines (145), Evan Hines (152), Alex Biagi (160), Avlin Brock (170), Grayson Cannon (220) and Trent Smith (285).
East Lincoln 51, Statesville 27: This match featured two extremely quick pins. East Lincoln’s Carter Williamson (195) won in 11 seconds, and Statesville’s Joe Dishman (126) posted a pin in 22 seconds.
Providence Day 60, Hickory 6: Joey Ricco (126) and Declan Peters (160) won by pins in the first period of their matches for the Chargers. Hickory’s Jordan Pendry (145) won by fall, for the Red Tornadoes’ only points.
Statesville 72, Hickory 0: The Greyhounds won five matches by pins, including Garrison Fontana’s victory at 160 pounds in 1:11.
Statesville 42, Providence Day 27: Providence Day trailed 30-27 after a victory at 195 pounds, but the Greyhounds’ Robert Shuford (220) and Marcus McIver (285) won by pin, and Statesville took the match.

Alexander Central 51, Oak Hill (Va.) 12: The closest match was at 160 pounds, where Alexander Central’s Sam Taraban beat Connor Sewitsky 4-3.
Boiling Springs Crest 51, Oak Hill 0: Elisha Wellman (126) scored a victory by pin in 42 seconds for the Chargers. In the tightest match, Crest’s Matthew Ledbetter beat Oak Hill’s Connor Sewitsky 8-5 at 160 pounds.
