Aniya Finger, Hopewell: team-high 17 points in a 46-45 win over Green Level.
Senali Moss, South Mecklenburg: 18 points, five rebounds, four steals in a 64-45 win over Wilson (SC). Teammates Shakyra Harley (14 points, five rebounds) and Jackie Felt (11 points, 10 blocks, eight rebounds) had big nights.
Rachel Noonan, Charlotte Christian: 18 points, season-high 14 reobunds in a 69-56 loss to Carmel Christian Saturday.
Jessica Timmons, North Meck: helped the Vikings upset No. 5 Carson 62-58. Timmons finished with 33 points, eight rebounds, four assists. Alona Dunlap (10 points, seven rebounds) also had a strong game.
Lauren Walker, Mallard Creek: 16 points, five rebounds, five assists in a 84-29 win over Cary.

Neveah Brown, Mallard Creek: 11 points, five rebounds, five assists, two blocks in a 70-40 win over Cary Panther Creek in the I-MECK/Tri-8 Challenge.
Neveah Caldwell, Hopewell: team-high 26 points ina 65-56 win over Cary Green Hope. This was part of the I-MECK/Tri-8 challenge between teams from Mecklenburg County-area and Wake County-area schools. The games were played in the Raleigh area.
Emma Fisher, Mount Pleasant: Sophomore star had 14 points, 10 steals and six rebounds in a 52-17 win over Carolina International.
Ryan Swiling, Charlotte Christian: made 4-of-6 3-pointers and finished with 16 points in a 51-32 win over High Point Wesleyan.
Jessie Wiles, Davidson Day: 18 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three assists in a 56-48 loss to Asheville Christian.

Butler to retire Burdick’s jersey
Butler HIgh School will retire the jersey of former Observer player of the year Cierra Burdick in a special ceremony Feb. 4.
Burdick, the best girls player in school history, led the Bulldogs to a state championship in 2010. She was a two-time Parade All-American and a McDonald’s All-American.
Before playing collegiately at Tennnessee and professionally in the WNBA and overseas, Burdick was named the Charlotte Observer high school player of the year, the N.C. Gatorade player of the year, the Associated Press player of the year and Ms. Basketball in North Carolina.
Hoodies House Tournament Schedule Released
The annual Hoodies House national Christmas tournament schedule is out. The event runs Dec. 27-30 at Rocky River High School.
The tournament will have an eight-team national tournament field along with a four-team local/regional tournament. The Hoodies House, formerly the Dell Curry Shootout, has previously been called the nation’s No. 1 post Christmas holiday tournament nationally.
There will be a dunk contest following the final game on Saturday, Dec. 28.
