Mecklenburg County teams have dominated private school football for some time now.

So perhaps it’s not surprise that Mecklenburg County, and Observer-area schools, dominate the N.C. Preps preseason all-state football team. NCISAA Division I state champ Davidson Day landed four players on the team.

N.C. Preps released its preseason public school teams Wednesday.

On the private school team, the 11-man offensive team is comprised entirely of Observer-area players: QB (Sam Hartman, Davidson Day); RB (Gabe Montgomery, Providence Day); RB (DeMarkes Stradford, Charlotte Latin); WR (Brodus Roberson, Charlotte Country Day); WR (Deshon Holmes, Statesville Christian); WR (Julius Felder, Concord First Assembly); OL (Jack Mitchell, Charlotte Christian); OL (Luca Katz, Charlotte Country Day); OL (Jack Carter, Davidson Day); OL (Tyshawn Miller, Northside Christian); OL (Cameron Sedegren, Concord First Assembly).

On defense, five Observer-area stars were selected: DL (Eddie Crutchfield, Charlotte Laitn); DL (Garrett Groulx, Davidson Day); LB (Chase Monroe, Davidson Day); DB (Melvin Rouse, Charlotte Latin); DB (Tanner Talley, Northside Christian).

Charlotte Christian kicker Christian Van Sickle was named on special teams.
