Jacob May hit a bases-clearing triple in the fifth inning, leading the Charlotte Knights to a 6-4 win over the Louisville Bats on Thursday.
Zack Burdi struck Hernan Iribarren out with runners on first and second to end the game for his sixth save of the season.
The triple by May started the scoring in a five-run inning and gave the Knights a 4-3 lead. Later in the inning, Nicky Delmonico hit an RBI single and then scored on a double by Cody Asche.
In the top of the seventh, Louisville cut into the lead on a single by Stuart Turner that scored Dilson Herrera.
Brian Clark (2-1) got the win in relief while Lisalverto Bonilla (2-3) took the loss in the International League game.
Several Bats chipped in at the plate, as five players picked up at least a pair of hits. Jesse Winker doubled twice and singled.
With the win, Charlotte improved to 6-1 against Louisville this season.
