Tyler Saladino hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning, leading the Charlotte Knights to an 11-7 win over the Durham Bulls on Thursday.
The home run by Saladino came in the midst of a nine-run inning and gave the Knights a 5-4 lead. Later in the inning, Charlotte scored on three more plays, including a two-run double by Tyler Ladendorf.
The Knights added to their lead in the ninth when Ronald Bueno hit a two-run double.
Bobby Parnell (2-1) got the win in relief while Diego Castillo (0-1) took the loss in the International League game.
In the losing effort, Durham got contributions throughout its order, as five players collected at least two hits. Cade Gotta doubled and singled twice, scoring three runs.
Despite the loss, Durham is 13-3 against Charlotte this season.
