Luis Garcia hit a three-run home run, and the Charlotte Knights battered Lehigh Valley pitchers en route to a 10-3 victory Saturday night.
Garcia’s homer was his third and led a 12-hit attack. Jacob May hit two doubles, and catcher Omar Narvaez had three hits and drove in two runs to help the first-place Knights (39-45) take the third game of the four-game series. Danny Muno also had three hits for Charlotte.
Charlotte starter Scott Carroll (2-6) was effective if not overpowering, allowing five hits and a run over five innings. He didn’t walk or strike out anyone.
IronPigs starting pitcher Ben Lively (3-2) had a forgettable night, allowing seven runs in five innings and contributing to that with two throwing errors.
The teams conclude their series Sunday at 6:35 p.m. The Knights return home on Monday to face Pawtucket at 6:05 p.m.
