Carlos Rodon struggles in rehab start as Charlotte Knights fall to Louisville Bats

Carlos Rodon’s disappointing season isn’t getting any better.

The White Sox sent the former N.C. State star to Charlotte for a rehab assignment on Monday, and the left-hander struggled in his start against the Louisville Bats. Rodon gave up five hits, three runs and two walks over 3 2/3 innings in a 6-2 Knights loss. Rodon has been on the disabled list since July 6 with a sprained left wrist. He’s 2-7 with a 4.50 ERA for the White Sox.

Louisville battered three Charlotte pitchers for 13 hits. Reliever Kameron Loe gave up eight hits, two walks and three runs over 3 1/3 innings.

Jason Coats had three hits for Charlotte and raised his batting average to .340.

The teams continue their series at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday.
