Charlotte Hornets lottery pick Malik Monk wasn’t available for summer league in July because of an ankle sprain.
So fans’ first chance to see the former Kentucky guard perform as a Hornet will be Saturday, Sept. 30 at Spectrum Center, when the team will hold an open practice free to the public.
The event will start at noon, and will be four days after the Hornets open training campat Spectrum Center. There will be an autograph session as part of the event.
This will also be Hornets fans’ first chance to see center Dwight Howard, acquired in trade with the Atlanta Hawks in June, and guard-forward Dwayne Bacon, the second-round pick from Florida State.

While admission is free, fans will need complimentary tickets, which can be printed out from hornets.com.
