Telling statistic: Admittedly this is a small sample size, but Daniels has made 17 of 36 3-point attempts as a Hornet.
Season review: Daniels came to the Hornets at the trade deadline from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the deal that brought veteran point guard Mo Williams to Charlotte. The Timberwolves needed to open a roster spot to facilitate another trade (Adreian Payne from Atlanta) so they did a 2-for-1, getting Gary Neal.
Daniels didn’t play much until the Hornets were eliminated from playoff contention, but what he’s done is promising. This team’s greatest need might be 3-point shooting and he’s also quite a leaper for a 6-foot-4 player. Clifford wants Daniels to play summer league in July in Orlando, Fla., along with rookies Noah Vonleh and P.J. Hairston.
