Charlotte Hornets forward Frank Kaminsky will have a procedure this week to repair a small pocket of air in his chest wall.
The procedure, scheduled for Wednesday, will cause Kaminsky to miss about the next six weeks of activity. As a result, he will not play for the Hornets’ entry in the Orlando summer league.
This was an elective procedure to remove an air pocket between Kaminsky’s chest wall and lungs that was causing discomfort.
With Kaminsky out and the Hornets trading the No. 22 pick to the Sacramento Kings, the only Charlotte player under a full contract playing in summer league will be second-year pro Aaron Harrison.

Harrison, who went undrafted a year ago, made the Hornets based primarily on his performance in summer league last year.
