The Charlotte Hornets are bringing back 6-foot-3 point guard Ramon Sessions as their backup , filling half their remaining needs in free agency.
Sessions played for the then-Bobcats during the 2013-14 season, averaging 10.5 points and 3.7 assists. He was traded partway through the next season to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Sessions, who grew up in Myrtle Beach, has a knack for creating free-throw attempts with his quick, herky-jerky drives to the basket.
Since playing in Charlotte, the 11-season NBA veteran also played for the Sacramento Kings and Washington Wizards. He finished last season as Washington’s starter after John Wall went out for the season with injury.

A source familiar with Sessions’ contract said he’ll make $12.3 million over the next two seasons. The second of those two seasons is at the Hornets’ option.
The Hornets also addressed the need for another big man. They will sign former Pacer and Laker center Roy Hibbert.
