Center Al Jefferson has become the first Charlotte Bobcat to be named an NBA Player of the Month.
Jefferson, the Bobcats’ leading scorer and an All-NBA candidate, averaged 24.7 points and 10.6 rebounds as the Bobcats went 9-7 in the games applicable for the month of March.
The span included a 38-point/19-rebound game against the Miami Heat. Jefferson had nine games in March in which he reached a double-double in points and rebounds.
Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant was named Western Conference Player of the Month for March after averaging 34.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists. Durant has won the Player of the Month award for the West four of a possible five times this season.
