Matchup to Watch
Anthony Davis vs. Cody Zeller/Marvin Williams: Davis is emerging as a viable most valuable player candidate; he’s clearly one of the best two-way players in the league in terms of protecting the rim and scoring.
• Davis and center Omer Asik make it very challenging for an opponent to score on the Pelicans in the paint.
• The Pelicans beat the Hornets easily in New Orleans early in the season.
• Cody Zeller made all eight of his field-goal attempts against the Boston Celtics on Monday and scored 20 points.
• The Hornets list Lance Stephenson (pelvic sprain) as out, meaning he will miss his 12th consecutive game with this injury.
Did you know?
Over the past two seasons, Davis has had three games reaching at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks. No other NBA player has one such game in that span.
