Matchup to Watch

Chris Bosh vs. Cody Zeller/Marvin Williams: Bosh’s ability to stretch the floor with his outside shooting and ballhandling always makes him a tough matchup for the Hornets’ big men, but Zeller has had some success guarding him of late.

• Point guard Kemba Walker practiced Tuesday after missing the previous two games with a sore knee. Assuming he has no setback, he’ll go back into the starting lineup vs. the Heat.

• Gastonia’s Hassan Whiteside has so far been a terrific free-agent signing for the Heat, which needed help inside after Josh McRoberts had knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus. Seven-footer Whiteside has averaged two blocks per game with Miami.

• Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade has been playing with a sore left hamstring.

• Hornets coach Steve Clifford planned to use center Al Jefferson as a reserve at least one more game while Jefferson regains game conditioning.

Did you know?

Whiteside shot 66.2 percent from the field in his first 16 games with the Heat. He doesn’t have enough shot attempts to qualify among NBA leaders, but if he did he’d be third in the league in field-goal percentage.
