Carolina Panthers wide receiver Philly Brown (shoulder) worked on the side during Tuesday’s practice at Bank of America Stadium, but his status for Saturday night’s game at Seattle is unclear.
Rivera continues to call Brown day-to-day, and asked in the locker room if he’ll play Saturday, Brown said it will be up to the coaches.
If Brown isn’t able to play, Brenton Bersin will get the first crack at the No. 3 receiver position, though he doesn’t have Brown’s speed.
Backup safety Thomas DeCoud (hamstring) also worked on the side Tuesday and said he expects to be available to play against Seattle.
Tight end Greg Olsen, running back Jonathan Stewart and defensive end Charles Johnson each had a veteran’s day off.
The Panthers aren’t required to release an injury report until Wednesday.
Future signing: The Panthers signed tight end Mike McNeill to a future contract. McNeill, who was in camp with the Panthers in August, won’t sign with the team until the new league year begins in March.
