Mayor Clodfelter bets Seattle mayor over playoff contest

Charlotte Mayor Dan Clodfelter on Friday made a bet with the mayor of Seattle, Ed Murray, over Saturday’s NFC divisional playoff between the Carolina Panthers and the Seattle Seahawks.

If the Panthers lose, Clodfelter will send to Seattle 100 percent recyclable sneakers by ReKixx, salted caramel brownies from Amélie’s French Bakery and Olde Mecklenburg Brewery paraphernalia.

If the Seahawks lose, Murray will send to Charlotte a gift basket created by Seattle’s iconic record label Sub Pop, including vinyl LPs by Nirvana, Mudhoney, the Shins and the Postal Service. In addition, there also will be contemporary compact discs by Shabazz Palaces, Sleater-Kinney, Sarah Silverman and Luluc, and other memorabilia. Steve Harrison
