9:57 a.m.: Cam just connected with Jarius Wright on an absolutely gorgeous out route. Floated it right over the defenders hands — shoulder shimmy after is a totally appropriate flex ... Newton is also giving Terry Godwin, one of his former 7-on-7 guys, a little route-running advice. — Brendan Marks

9:43 a.m.: Cam obviously happy to be throwing again after he hardly ever did Saturday. When he and McCaffrey slightly flub an intricate handshake that involved a hip shimmy, Cam bellowed: “That’s what training camp is for!” — Scott Fowler

9:35 a.m.: Cam Newton fired up this morning; doing a toe-drag dance with Christian McCaffrey. —Rick Bonnell

9:06 a.m.: Carolina Panthers training camp rolls on Sunday, and while yesterday was a planned rest day for quarterback Cam Newton, today he figures to participate fully in his first padded practice of the summer. — Brendan Marks
