In news that shouldn’t come as a surprise, Panthers middle linebacker Luke Kuechly is out for Sunday’s game against the Saints.

Kuechly will miss his second consecutive game due to a concussion he suffered in Week 1’s win at Jacksonville.

With Brenton Bersin getting the call up from the practice squad on Saturday, receiver Kevin Norwood is inactive after being active last week. Norwood played just 13 snaps in last week’s win against the Texans but had a drop that led to an interception on his only target.

This is the first game of the 2015 season Bersin will play. Bersin got the call up due to a high ankle sprain for Jerricho Cotchery, who could miss next week as well.

Defensive tackle Star Lotulelei gets his first action of the season. He had a stress reaction in early August to his surgically repaired foot. Veteran tackle Colin Cole is inactive to make room for Lotulelei.

Rookie running back Cameron Artis-Payne will be active for the game. He played just four snaps in Week 1 and was inactive last week.

Also inactive for Carolina are safety Dean Marlowe, running back Brandon Wegher and offensive tackle Daryl Williams.
