The Carolina Panthers have a number of older free agents who might have played their last snaps for Carolina, a list that includes defensive backs Roman Harper and Charles Tillman and wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery.
But general manager Dave Gettleman didn’t want to address the players’ futures until he speaks with them following the NFL Scouting Combine. Gettleman came under heavy criticism two years ago for talking about franchise receiving leader Steve Smith at the combine before speaking with Smith directly before his release.
Asked Wednesday if Harper, Tillman and Cotchery fit in the team’s plans, Gettleman said: “I’ve got to take it one step at a time.”
